Andrei Savinykh: Belarus and Russia are at the forefront of the struggle for a just reorganization of the world

“Today Belarus and Russia are developing in the conditions of the aggravating geopolitical conflict, which affects literally all areas of human activity,” Andrei Savinykh said. “The old hegemon represented by the countries of the collective West will not voluntarily give up its leading position in the world. The special military operation has put Russia at the forefront of the struggle for the reorganization of the world, for the transition to a multipolar world, and together with Russia is Belarus as a strategic ally and an integral part of the core of our common civilization. This global confrontation is being fiercely fought in all key directions at once. It is extremely important that this geopolitical conflict is ontological in nature; it will be exhausted only through the victory of one of the parties. Compromise and reconciliation with the preservation of the old system of relations is impossible. We will have to walk a hard and difficult path together and to the end for the sake of the future of our civilization and the wellbeing of our peoples.”

He believes that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia should make a serious contribution to this process. “The analysis of the situation and the logic of the development of integration ties helps us identify three areas in which the Parliamentary Assembly could play an important role,” Andrei Savinykh said. “First of all, it is the strengthening of the common civilizational unified information consolidated-value space with a focus on our common history, a common vision of the goals of our Union building. Secondly, it is the expansion of cooperation in higher education and the formation of a common scientific space, which is essential to ensure our Union. Thirdly, it is deeper industrial cooperation not only for expanding import substitution programs, but also for supporting new industrialization, which will let us reproduce and improve all kinds of technologies and technological processes that are necessary for the successful functioning and development of our economies.”

Andrei Savinykh also emphasized that the Parliamentary Assembly should continue its work on the outer contour. “This is especially true in terms of interaction with third countries on international parliamentary platforms. In a number of parliamentary organizations it creates opportunities for a consolidated demonstration of positions on the part of three parliamentary delegations - Russia, Belarus and the Parliamentary Assembly. Against the background of passivity of all other delegations in our region, we should more actively use international parliamentary platforms to demonstrate our confidence in the rightness of our cause to increase the number of our supporters in opposition to the Western coalition,” the MP said.
