New BelAZ haulers to help at Russia’s largest copper deposit

10:20, 21 July

Eight 240-tonne BelAZ haulers will be shipped to help out in copper ore mining in a permafrost zone, BelTA learned from the BelAZ press service.

The new truck haulers will join the fleet of BelAZ mining equipment operating at Udokan, Russia’s largest copper deposit. Two BelAZ-7531 truck haulers will be shipped to the Far East in July, with six more to follow in August-September.

According to the company, the first batch of ten 130-tonne BELAZ haulers arrived at Udokan in 2022. The latest delivery features even more powerful machinery. The 240-tonne truck haulers will help miners in the Trans-Baikal region boost open-pit copper production volumes and improve the efficiency of the mining and processing plant.

The 240-tonne BelAZ-7531 machinery is designed for reliable operation in harsh mining, geological, and climatic conditions at the high-altitude Udokan deposit, located in a permafrost zone.

Equipped with integrated ROPS/FOPS cabin protection systems and advanced climate control, these trucks ensure operator safety and comfort despite extreme temperature fluctuations - from -50°C in winter to +35°C in summer.
