The Belarusian mechanical engineering company MAZ will ship almost 100 large-capacity electric buses to St. Petersburg, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov said as he visited the company in Minsk on 14 July, BelTA learned

Within the framework of the Days of St. Petersburg in Minsk, the delegation of the Russian city toured many enterprises, including MAZ.

“This is an example of the integration that our presidents, Vladimir Putin and Aleksandr Lukashenko, talk about. Seller-buyer is not our formula. Our formula is partners. Integration is manifested in MAZ buses and electric buses because 30% of various spare parts are manufactured in St. Petersburg,” Alexander Beglov said.

Recently it became known that MAZ won a tender to produce electric buses for St. Petersburg. The head of the Russian city added that the batch is 99 units that will be shipped to the city during this year.

“Tenders draw a lot of competition. If we do not pool our efforts, then it will be a different situation,” he said. “The integration policy defined by our presidents is yielding results. By and large, this is the future, because the market is always changing, requirements are changing.”
