Winter rapeseed harvest nears completion in Belarus

Belarus is completing the harvest of its winter rapeseed, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 9 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 984,400 hectares, which is 51,4% of the designated area. Some 3.337 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 33.9 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 318,200 hectares of land or 96ю6% of the targeted area, with 899,100 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 28.3 centners per hectare.

Flax was pulled from 32,500 hectares, which is 74.4% of the area under this crop.
