The trade between Belarus and Russia's Astrakhan Oblast has doubled, Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Astrakhan Oblast Governor Igor Babushkin, BelTA has learned.

A government delegation visited Astrakhan Oblast of Russia at the end of October 2022. “It was a productive meeting. We saw a great interest in joint projects, and the negotiations were extremely fruitful. The result is also good - a two-fold increase in trade between Belarus and Astrakhan Oblast. This proves the effectiveness of such meetings. It is gratifying that this growth is mutual: both exports and imports are on the rise,” said Roman Golovchenko.

The prime minister noted that the visit of the governor of the Russian region is important for maintaining momentum in cooperation and adjusting some agreements.

The Astrakhan Oblast delegation will also tour a number of industrial enterprises of Belarus, including Mogilevliftmash.
