Planting of winter rapeseed for grain on home stretch in Belarus

Planting of winter rapeseed for grain is drawing to a close in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 28 August, 95% of the area under grain and leguminous crops and about 90% of the area under rapeseed was cleared in Belarus. A total of 6,925,000 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped. This includes 5,986,000 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and about 940,000 tonnes of rapeseed.

All regions in Belarus have completed flax pulling. The flax straw harvest reached about 50,000 tonnes.

Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 61% of the area. Primary tillage was conducted on 15% of the cleared area.

Winter rapeseed for grain was sown on 99% of the area.

Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Some 898,000 tonnes of corn for silage have been cropped so far.
