Over 80% of area under winter rapeseed cropped in Belarus

Winter rapeseed was gathered in from over 80% of the targeted area, the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.

As of 1 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 490,300 hectares, which is 24.8% of the designated area. Some 1.72 million tonnes of grain have been threshed at the average yield of 35.1 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was gathered in from 273,100 hectares of land or 82.1% of the targeted area, with 722,200 tonnes threshed (the average yield stood at 26.4 centners per hectare).

Flax was pulled from 25,000 hectares, which is 57.3% of the area under this crop. Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 275,400 hectares.
