Over 4.5m tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, harvested in Belarus

Some 4.525 million tonnes of grain crops, including rapeseed, have already been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 10 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 1.065 million hectares, which is 55.6% of the designated area. Some 3.617 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 34 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 320,700 hectares of land or 97.4% of the targeted area, with 908,100 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 28.3 centners per hectare.

Flax was pulled from 33,400 hectares, which is 76.7% of the area under this crop.
