Over 2m tonnes of grain cropped in Belarus

Over two million tonnes of grain crops have already been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 3 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 606,200 hectares, which is 30.6% of the designated area. Some 2.096 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 34.6 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 290,800 hectares of land or 87.4% of the targeted area, with 790,900 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 27.2 centners per hectare.

Flax was pulled from 27,100 hectares, which is 62.1% of the area under this crop. Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 323,600 hectares.
