Nearly 90% of area under winter rapeseed harvested in Belarus

Winter rapeseed was gathered in from almost 90% of the area, the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.

As of 4 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 669,200 hectares, which is 33.8% of the designated area. Some 2.306 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 34.5 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 298,600 hectares of land or 89.7% of the targeted area, with 822,700 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 27.6 centners per hectare.

Flax was pulled from 28,300 hectares, which is 64.8% of the area under this crop. Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 346,500 hectares.
