Nearly 7.1m tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, cropped in Belarus

Some 7,096,500 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 8 September, over 7,096,500 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped. This included 6,119,300 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and over 977,200 tonnes of rapeseed.

Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in Brest Oblast, Minsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast, with 1,580 hectares of land already cleared. Some 11,900 tonnes of grain was threshed, the yield is 75.5 centners per hectare.

Some 4,205,100 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.

In addition to that, 18,200 tonnes of buckwheat and 11,000 tonnes of millet were threshed.

The flax straw harvest exceeded 75,600 tonnes.

Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 73.9% of the area.

Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Some 87,800 tonnes of potatoes were removed from fields. The yield is 360.4 centners per hectare.

Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 193,100 tonnes of sugar were been removed, the yield is 442.2 centners per hectare.
