Belarus harvests over 40% of grain legumes area

Belarus has cleared over 40% of the area planted to cereals and leguminous crops, the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.

As of 6 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 810,200 hectares, which is 42.3% of the designated area. Some 2.765 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 34.1 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 310,000 hectares of land or 94.2% of the targeted area, with 870,100 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 28.1 centners per hectare.

Flax was pulled from 30,100 hectares, which is 68.9% of the area under this crop. Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 404,500 hectares.
