Belarus' grain harvest exceeds 5.6m

Some 5.603 million tonnes of grain crops, including rapeseed, have already been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 15 August, cereals and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat and millet) were harvested from the area of 1.379 million hectares, which is 72% of the designated area. Some 4.675 million tonnes of grain have been threshed, showing average yields of 33.9 centners per hectare.

Winter rapeseed for grain was cut on 326,500 hectares of land or 99.6% of the targeted area, with 927,400 tonnes threshed with yields averaging 28.4 centners per hectare.

Flax was pulled from 37,400 hectares, which is 85.7% of the area under this crop.
