Belarus' grain harvest at 8.8m tonnes

Belarus has harvested some 8.8 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 20 October, some 8,802,000 tonnes of grain crops and rapeseed were cropped in Belarus.

Harvesting of corn kernels is underway in all the regions of the country, with 168,600 hectares of land already cleared. Some 1,375,500 tonnes of corn kernels were threshed, with the yields averaging 81.6 centners per hectare.

Some 21,227,700 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.

Belarus harvested 773,200 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 351.0 centners per hectare.

Sugar beet harvesting is also in progress in Belarus. Some 2,848,100 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields standing at 462.7 centners per hectare.

Belarus has harvested a total of 125,700 tonnes of vegetables, with the yield averaging 281.1 centners per hectare.
