Belarus' corn harvest over 1.9m tonnes

Belarus has threshed more than 1.9 million tonnes of corn kernels, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 9 November, Belarus harvested 9,380,100 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed.

Corn was harvested from 235,400 hectares of land. Some 1,946,800 tonnes of corn kernels were threshed, with the yields averaging 82.7 centners per hectare. Some 22,768,100 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.

Belarus removed 4,507,500 tonnes of sugar beet from 93,100 hectares, with the yields standing at 484.2 centners per hectare.

Belarus harvested a total of 172,600 tonnes of vegetables from the area of 5,550 hectares. The yield is 310.9 centners per hectare

Some 9,217,200 tonnes of grass was cropped, which is 95.3% of the target.
