Around 8.7m tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, threshed in Belarus

Around 8.7 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, have been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 18 October, some 8,701,800 tonnes of grain crops and rapeseed were cropped in Belarus.

Harvesting of corn kernels is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 157,200 hectares of land already cleared. Some 1,277,700 tonnes of corn kernels were threshed, with the yields averaging 81.3 centners per hectare.

Some 20,820,800 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.

Belarus harvested 748,100 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 351.3 centners per hectare.

Sugar beet harvesting is also in progress in Belarus. Some 2,672,400 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields standing at 460.3 centners per hectare.
