The 31st installment of the Minsk International Book Fair will be running in the Belarusian capital on 14-17 March  at 14 Pobediteley Avenue, Belarusian Deputy Information Minister Igor Buzovsky told the media in Minsk on 4 March, BelTA has learned.

The exhibition will be themed around the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Year of Quality, anniversaries of famous Belarusian writers and poets, etc.

"The slogan ‘The world of books without borders’ will be an overarching theme for all events. We hold a traditional symposium during the Minsk book fair, and its theme actually determines the theme of the book fair. We suggest the slogan "The  world of dialogue for the future" as the main topic of discussions of writers and book producers and distributors and also book readers," Igor Buzovsky said.

The National Stand, which will be styled after the Victory Square of Minsk this year, will feature the books dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the National Library’s exposition of artistic, journalistic and propaganda works of 1941-1944, the exposition by the Presidential Library of Belarus of rare books dedicated to the heroic fight of the Soviet people against the Nazi invaders, and The Invincible Belarus exposition featuring a photo chronicle of the Belarusian cities in the pre-war, war and post-war periods.

This year, the International Quarter central exhibitor will be the Islamic Republic of Iran. "International cooperation in book production and distribution has been robust. 500 books to be presented by the central exhibitor will be distributed and sold by our publishing houses," Igor Buzovsky emphasized.
