The Patriotic Youth Forum of the Union State is being held in Minsk

The Patriotic Youth Forum of the Union State, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, has started in Minsk on the site of the Belarusian State University.
About 200 representatives of students from universities of Belarus and 20 universities of Russia are participating in the forum.
Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State, sent a welcoming address to the young citizens of the Union State. The greeting of the Secretary of State was voiced by Vladimir Zhevnyak, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Permanent Committee of the Union State in Minsk.

"The upcoming forum is an opportunity for caring citizens of fraternal countries to jointly resist attempts to falsify the truth about the Great Feat, to educate the younger generation in loyalty to the heroic past of their fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers," the State Secretary of the Union State noted in the greeting. Dmitry Mezentsev is convinced that the community of Belarusian and Russian students has a special attitude towards preserving common cultural, moral and historical values.
Recalling the contribution of the Secretary of State to the education of true patriots of the Fatherland, Rector of BSU Andrei Korol recalled that at the first Patriotic Forum of the Union Youth, which was held in Minsk exactly a year ago, the volume of the historical and educational project "Library of the Union State", the book "Has no statute of limitations" was presented.… Crimes of fascism against the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." This book, which collected the works of historians and archivists of Belarus and Russia, was published with the personal participation of Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State.
Today, the Secretary of State's welcoming address emphasized the importance of the strength of the youth movement, a key tool for overcoming disagreements and alienations in the modern world, and one of the priorities of the Union building practice.
"Remember, each of you is a bearer of unique experience and knowledge that can become the basis of great achievements!" said Dmitry Mezentsev, Secretary of State of the Union State, to the young Belarusians and Russians.
Vladimir Zhevnyak, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Post-Committee of the Union State in Minsk, speaking from the rostrum of the forum, recalled important allied initiatives for young people: Olympiads and Spartakiads of the Union State, patriotic cadet shifts "For the Honor of the Motherland", the union project for schoolchildren "Train of Memory", which has gained incredible popularity, and much more.
On the day of the official opening of the Patriotic Youth Forum of the Union State, its participants met with Maria Yagodnitsyna, chairman of the Belarusian Union of Leningrad Blockaders, and Professor Fedor Feshchenko, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Candidate of Geographical Sciences.
A panel discussion "Living History: the Struggle for Historical Truth" was held at BSU today. The youth of the Union State also met with the head of the Youth Parliament at the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Alina Retkova.
The forum participants visited the Khatyn Memorial Complex and the State Museum of the History of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
Within the framework of the Patriotic Youth Forum of the Union State, agreements on cooperation in the field of youth policy were signed between BSU and Kursk State University, as well as Belgorod State University and Omsk State University named after F.M.Dostoevsky.
