Russian state loan to cover 20 import-substituting investment projects in Belarus

As of 17 October 2023 as a result of the methodical work the Belarusian Industry Ministry and the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry are doing together passports have been approved for 20 promising import-substituting investment projects. The number includes 16 main projects and four additional ones, the Belarusian Industry Ministry press service told BelTA.

The list has been expanded to include the machine-tools factories OAO Vistan and OAO Krasny Borets and the automobile parts factory OAO Borisov Plant Avtogydrousilitel.

Part of the Russian state financial loan is already being spent on 13 promising import-substituting investment projects.

A number of projects are in the active investment phase already. Those provide for comprehensive modernization of existing manufacturing facilities and the creation of new ones at OAO Gomselmash, the retooling of the existing manufacturing facilities by replacing outdated and worn-out equipment while starting the production of large-size eye bearings and rollers of large-size bearings at OAO Minsk Bearing Plant, the modernization of manufacturing facilities at OAO BelAZ in 2020-2025. Tenders have been called as part of these projects to choose suppliers of equipment. Contracts (agreements) are being signed. Payments in advance are being made thanks to proprietary resources and bank loans.

The Industry Ministry press service reminded that the intergovernmental agreement on granting the state financial loan to the Belarusian government was signed in November 2022.
