Russia is the future of the planet, all resources are there, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting with foreign and Belarusian journalists in Minsk on 6 July, BelTA has learned.

The head of state was asked about his proposal to align the EAEU, BRICS and the SCO and about what needs to be done to make the CIS one of the pillars of a multipolar world.

"Our problem is that if decide to make a go, we do it very timidly. I raised this issue as well," the head of state said.

He recalled that recently at a conference in Moscow he said to Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia needs to assert itself more actively. Although the countries in the post-Soviet space may have differing interests, they can still be consolidated.

"Russia is the future of the planet. All resources are there," the president stressed.

He noted that the country has many breakthrough technologies in various field. Belarus has competencies in many areas too. "We [members of the integration associations] need to do more in terms of integration. If they pull us apart, they will finish us one by one. Belarus and Russia understood this," the head of state said.

He also stressed that he had always been in favor of a multipolar world order.
