On the eve, State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev visited St. Petersburg State University. At a meeting with the rector of St. Petersburg State University, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikolai Kropachev, he discussed the practice of interaction between the university and universities of the Republic of Belarus, reports the Standing Committee of the Union State.

Dmitry Mezentsev positively assessed the work being carried out at the university to improve joint educational programs for Russian and Belarusian students who receive two diplomas of higher education.

During the meeting, a telephone conversation with Rector of the Belarusian State University Andrei Korol took place. The heads of the universities exchanged information on the international activities of the universities and confirmed their readiness to expand cooperation. Nikolai Kropachev expressed readiness to conclude partnership agreements with other Belarusian universities.

Dmitry Mezentsev informed the heads of St. Petersburg State University and BSU about the decision of the Supreme State Council of the Union State to establish the University of High Technologies of the Union State in a network format. In his opinion, the establishment of the university will require the expansion of the practice of interaction between educational institutions and the development of new experience, which is in demand given today's technological challenges and tasks.
