Belarus-Russia Union State PA adopts draft budget 2023

The Belarus-Russia Union State draft budget 2023 passed two readings at a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 19 December, BelTA has learned.

When introducing the draft document, Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Aleksei Kubrin said that revenues would make up RUB5,966 million. It will include contributions of Belarus and Russia as well as the remainder of the Union State budget 2022. Expenses are planned at the amount of RUB5.67 billion. The surplus will be RUB899 million.

According to Aleksei Kubrin, 78% of the budget in 2023 will be allocated to implement four programs of the Union State, including space and development of new fiber-optic technologies, as well as 33 activities. He pointed out the Memory Train project initiated by the upper chambers of the parliaments of Belarus and Russia.

Deputy State Secretary of the Union State said that four more draft programs are almost ready. They relate to border security, improvement of military infrastructure of the Union State, as well as combating infections and viruses. The budget surplus will be used to implement them once they are adopted.

The draft budget adopted by the Union State MPS will be submitted to the Supreme State Council of the Union State for approval.
