Belarus-Russia cooperation in energy seen as helpful in countering sanctions

 Cooperation in energy helps Belarus and Russia to counter the sanctions effectively, Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich said during a meeting with a delegation of the State Duma of Russia headed by Chairman of the Energy Committee Pavel Zavalny, BelTA has learned.

"Your visit will focus on the important issues of cooperation in the energy sector between our countries. The Belarusian-Russian cooperation is of a comprehensive strategic nature and covers key areas that ensure the energy security of our states," Viktor Karankevich said.

He stressed that advancing technological and industrial cooperation, stepping up import substitution efforts help Belarus and Russia to counter the sanctions effectively. "The fuel and energy complex of the Union State operates steady, ensuring the dynamic development of national economies," the minister added.
