Belarus had a surplus in trade with Russia of $896 million in the first quarter of 2023, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi said during a meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

"Last year, we managed to reverse the deficit trend in trade with Russia. For the first time in history, we had a surplus in trade both in goods and services. In the first quarter of this year, the situation improved even more and the aggregate surplus hit $896 million," Dmitry Krutoi emphasized.

According to him, transport services account for about 60% in the services sector. Due to the current situation in the field of logistics, the surplus in trade with Russia in the services sector has slightly decreased this year. But in general, the indicators remain quite high.
