Putin sends greetings to Lukashenko marking 30 years as president

Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended greetings as Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko celebrates 30 years in power, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The entire recent history of Belarus, marked by the building of modern state institutions and significant successes in the social and economic spheres, is inextricably linked to your name. Belarusian voters have entrusted you with the highest state post six times in a row, which undoubtedly testifies to your great authority among your compatriots,” the message of greetings reads. “It is difficult to overestimate your personal contribution to the development of friendly relations and fruitful cooperation between our countries, to the establishment and consolidation of the Union State and promotion of mutually beneficial integration processes in the Eurasian space.

The Russian leader emphasized that he would be glad to continue constructive, friendly dialogue and close joint work for the benefit of the peoples of Belarus and Russia.

“I heartily wish you good health, prosperity and success in your state activity,” Vladimir Putin wished.
