Lukashenko receives certificate of Chairman of Belarusian People's Congress

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Igor Karpenko handed over the certificate of Chairman of the Belarusian People's Congress to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 11 June, BelTA has learned.

“I’m already working as chairman, but I don’t have the certificate. What if someone asks about it,” the head of state said before receiving the certificate.
“In line with the law, let me give you the certificate of the Chairman of the Belarusian People's Congress of the Republic of Belarus. On behalf of the Central Election Commission and myself I would like to wish you good health and success in serving the Belarusian people,” said Igor Karpenko.
