Belarus, Russia agree to strengthen cooperation in information security

Another round of interagency consultations between the Security Councils of Belarus and Russia took place in Moscow on 29 January. Participating in the event was Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Neverovsky, BelTA learned from the press service of Russia’s Security Council.

“During the consultations, the parties assessed the international and regional situation and exchanged views on a wide range of practical issues of Russia-Belarus cooperation in information security, including strengthening interaction between the competent agencies of the two countries. They discussed in detail the plan for realizing the main directions of Russia-Belarus cooperation in information security. Taking into account the development of integration processes within the Union State [of Russia and Belarus], the parties agreed to update the plan to enhance practical cooperation,” the press service noted.


The meeting also addressed coordination of Belarusian and Russian positions in promoting approaches to international information security at various specialized international platforms.


“During the consultations, the parties confirmed their interest and commitment to cooperation in order to create a secure information space for the Union State,” the press service added.
