Belarus ratifies agreement on Belarusian-Russian University operations

Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed a law ratifying the intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Russia on the terms of operation of the Belarusian-Russian University, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The agreement regulates matters of the educational, financial, and economic activities of this intergovernmental institution of higher education in accordance with the legislation of the two countries, established practice, and the mechanism of interaction between the Belarusian and Russian sides.
At the same time, educational activities, licensing, accreditation, and certification, as well as the procedure for enrolling individuals to receive education under Belarusian educational programs, will be carried out in accordance with national legislation, and under Russian programs – in accordance with the legislation of that country.
The implementation of the agreement will help create additional conditions for the development of a joint educational environment, expanding the scientific, research, and innovation activities of the university, including with the involvement of organizations from Belarus and Russia, which will contribute to the training of highly qualified engineering personnel in the interests of the Union State economy.
