Cooperation with the public organization of Belarusians of Karelia has been going on for many years. Yakobson told about her acquaintance with Svetlana Evgenievna in 2016, when they organized a trip of creative teams to a concert dedicated to the elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Russian Federation. This event demonstrated the friendship between Russia and Belarus, highlighting common features and cultural ties.
"Belarusians in Karelia are very active and friendly," Yakobson noted. "They strive to keep in touch with their historical homeland and are actively working to promote Belarusian culture in their area. As part of the creative internships conducted by the center, Belarusians from different countries study traditional crafts, vocals and choreography, which helps strengthen cultural ties."
