Belarus, Russia's Khabarovsk Territory explore cooperation in shipbuilding, copper project

On 14 November, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi attended the Khabarovsk Territory presentation at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum at VDNKh in Moscow and held talks with Governor of the region Mikhail Degtyarev, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

"The parties discussed Belarus' participation in the project to build and to equip the grandiose Malmyzh copper mining and processing plant, other major infrastructure projects, joint work in the transport and logistics sector, including at the end points of the Baikal-Amur Mainline - the ports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan. The parties also looked into our possible cooperation in shipbuilding, which is experiencing explosive growth," the press service said.
The ambassador noted that Belarusian enterprises are interested in expanding the supply of municipal and passenger equipment, reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to meeting any needs of the region in electric transport, gas-powered vehicles and school buses which are successfully operated by Primorye Territory.
"Separately, the parties explored cultural and humanitarian cooperation, agreed to expand youth, sports and military-historical exchanges. We agreed to hold the Days of Belarusian Culture in Khabarovsk next autumn. Governor Mikhail Degtyarev invited Belarusians to participate in the Amur Waves military music festival," the press service noted.
The embassy also recalled that in Belarus it is Mogilev Oblast that spearheads cooperation with Khabarovsk Territory. "Mogilev makes an effective use of the platform of the Russia International Exhibition and Forum to compare notes with their geographically distant partners. Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Ruslan Strakhar attended the meeting between the Belarusian ambassador and the Khabarovsk Territory governor," the press service added.
