Overchuk: Belarus-Russia agreement on mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures ‘nearly ready’

Alexey Overchuk noted that the agenda of the meeting was packed. "As always, we considered issues related to improving transport links between Belarus and Russia. We discussed how to make the service more convenient for people who cross our border. There are specific investment projects of private investors that were proposed today. For example we looked into the early launch of the information exchange system for mutual recognition of entry visas of third-country nationals, so that the crossing of the border by citizens of these states becomes possible," Alexey Overchuk noted. 

The parties continue working on the mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures. "I think that we will sign a corresponding agreement in the near future. It is in a high degree of readiness," Alexey Overchuk said. 

The meeting also discussed transport tariffs, harmonization of approaches to the customs duties of Russia and Belarus in relation to third countries. "The discussion was very intensive," Alexey Overchuk added.
