Belarus, St. Petersburg determine priority avenues of R&D cooperation

Belarus and St. Petersburg have approved a list of priority avenues of scientific and R&D cooperation. Support for projects, which will be jointly implemented by educational and scientific organizations, will be granted according to the list in 2023-2025. The decision was made at a session of the Belarus-St. Petersburg working group on R&D activities. The videoconference session was chaired by First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus Andrei Kosovsky and Chairman of the Science and Higher School Committee of St. Petersburg Andrei Maksimov, the State Committee on Science and Technology press service told BelTA.

The priority avenues of cooperation include digital information and communication technologies, interdisciplinary technologies, manufacturing projects based on them; biological, medical, pharmaceutical and chemical technologies and manufacturing facilities; power engineering, civil engineering, ecology, and rational use of natural resources; mechanical engineering and machine-building technologies, instrument-making and innovative materials; agribusiness and food technologies. The procedure and the timing for organizing a contest-based selection of projects were also approved.
The working group is busy realizing the roadmap on supporting joint scientific and R&D projects in 2023-2025, which are jointly implemented by educational and scientific organizations located in St. Petersburg and Belarus. The roadmap was signed as a result of the 13th session of the Belarus-St. Petersburg Business Cooperation Council on 20 April 2023. The roadmap includes events for the contest-based selection of projects, their financing, and oversight over their results.
