The Ministry of Industry is completing work on a strategy for the development of the machine-tool industry until 2030, the press service of the Ministry of Industry reported.

The main objective of the document is to identify priority areas for the development of the industry and create conditions that promote technological independence in the production of asset-forming assets necessary to ensure production processes.
The strategy will set out key goals and objectives related to the development of the machine tool industry for the next five years. It will also analyze the current state and problems associated with machine tool manufacturing, assess the variety, quality and cost of machine tools and components manufactured both in the Union State and abroad. It will be important to highlight the role of training and advanced training of engineering and scientific personnel in achieving the goals of developing tool production and propose measures to improve personnel policy.
Machine tool manufacturing in Belarus is an important component of the mechanical engineering and metalworking industry, contributing to both the quantitative and qualitative development of these and other industries, and playing a key role in updating the country's technological park. Belarusian machine tool manufacturing enterprises have unique characteristics and competencies that allow them to successfully compete in the international arena.
Currently, there are about 30 organizations in Belarus engaged in the production of metalworking equipment in both the public and private sectors. These include machine tool and tool factories, enterprises producing universal technological equipment, forging and pressing and foundry equipment, as well as special design bureaus and research institutes. The range of manufactured machines covers all 9 groups according to the classification adopted in machine tool manufacturing, which allows satisfying the basic technical needs of enterprises in various sectors. In addition, machine tool manufacturing enterprises also produce other types of equipment, consumer goods, spare parts and tools.
The largest manufacturers of metalworking machines are part of the Ministry of Industry. Among the leading machine-tool manufacturing enterprises of the country, one can single out OJSC Kuzlitmash, OJSC Gomel Plant of Machine Tools and Units, OJSC Machine-Tool Plant Krasny Borets, OJSC StankoGomel, OJSC Vistan, OJSC Machine-Tool Plant named after S.M. Kirov and OJSC Minsk Plant of Automatic Lines named after P.M. Masherov, as well as other enterprises.
