Senators approve appointment of three members of National Bank Board

Members of the Council of the Republic have approved the appointment of Elena Mashnina, Denis Goreglyad and Dmitry Murin members of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Each of them has a wealth of experience in the banking sector and deserves to become a member of the Board of the National Bank, Chairwoman of the Economy, Budget, and Finance Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Tatiana Runets said answering reporters' questions.

Elena Mashnina, head of the main banking supervision department, was reappointed as the board member. The head of the the main department of operations in the financial markets Denis Goreglyad and the head of the main department of monetary policy and economic analysis Dmitry Murin became new members of the board.

The Council of the Republic approved the appointment of the members of the Board of the National Bank by the Belarus president in line with the Law on the National Assembly. The agenda of the extraordinary session of the upper chamber of the parliament also features ratification of a series of international agreements, including the executive program between the governments of Belarus and Egypt on cooperation in the field of higher and postgraduate education and the agreement on the operations with precious metals and precious stones in the EAEU. In addition, the senators decided to hold a joint meeting of the chambers of the Belarusian parliament to hear out the annual president's Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly.
