Spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Varankov and spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova held the Belarus-Russia ministerial consultations on media support for foreign policy and cooperation with the press in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to media support for the Belarus-Russia Union State agenda, promoting objective coverage of integration processes, and joint efforts in the external media space. Special attention was given to coordination on joint events, expert information exchange, and developing common approaches to media responses to external challenges and attempts to distort the image of the Union State in international media.

"The parties reaffirmed their commitment to practical cooperation, emphasizing the importance of coordinating efforts amid turbulence in information space. Following the talks, an agreement was reached to implement several joint projects aimed at creating a balanced and reliable information environment around the Belarus-Russia strategic partnership," the press service noted.

Following the consultations, Maria Zakharova shared on her Telegram channel: "The consultations were so productive that at the end, Ruslan Nikolayevich [Varankov] presented me with a Belarusian axe made by Minsk Tractor Plant. With such a tool, we will now cut to the truth even more powerfully."

Maria Zakharova’s post was accompanied by a photo showing the press secretaries holding the Belarusian axe together.
