A memorial at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and partisans in Gilibert Park was officially opened on 30 April following its reconstruction, the Grodno City Executive Committee told BelTA.

For several months, specialists from various services worked to restore one of the city's most significant site of commemoration: the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and partisans, where 40 servicemen, three partisans and one underground resistance fighter are buried. Among them are Heroes of the Soviet Union, Captain Yuri Ivliev and Captain Olga Sanfirova, and resistance fighter Olga Solomova. The memorial has undergone improvements, including restoration of the liberator soldier monument, the eternal flame, and landscaping of the surrounding area.

On 1 May (Labor Day), for the first time since the reconstruction a flower-laying ceremony will be held there.
