The creation of the Union State made it possible to achieve tangible results in pursuing a coordinated economic policy, formation of a single humanitarian space and strengthening interregional relations, stated Prime Minister of Belarus Sergey Rumas in his welcome speech to the participants of the scientific-practical conference “Union State: Achievements, Problems, Prospects”. The speech of welcome was read out by Minister of Information of Belarus Alexander Karlyukevich.

“Over a relatively short historical period, our countries have achieved significant success, effectively solving problems in such important areas as equal rights of citizens, freedom of movement and employment, social guarantees, access to medical services and education. And these realities of modern life require us to move more actively towards each other in search of a compromise and solutions to problematic issues,” said Mr. Rumas.

The Prime Minister of Belarus believes it is necessary to open up new opportunities when raising national economies, improving the well-being of the two peoples.

“I am confident that the great industrial and managerial potential of those who gathered today will make it possible to discuss the most important tasks facing the Union State at a high level, as well as to effectively address the problems existing today and find viable solutions,” reads the welcome speech.
