The construction of a pipeline designed to connect Belarusian oil refineries will begin in October, BelTA learned from Oleg Borisenko, Director General of OAO Gomeltransneft Druzhba, on 13 August.

According to the source, the connecting pipeline will consist of 12 parts. Design work on the first part is nearing completion. Its construction will begin in October. The entire pipeline will be finished by 2023. The pipeline will consist of nine line pipes and three pump stations.

The connecting pipeline will allow the oil refinery Naftan to receive oil not only from Russia but also from Poland and Ukraine. “We will be independent in oil procurement. Apart from that, we will be able to make a mix of oil blends for the oil refineries,” Oleg Borisenko noted.
