Belarusian ambassador, Gazprom head discuss cooperation projects, possibilities

While in St. Petersburg Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexey Miller, the press service of the Belarusian embassy in Russia told BelTA.

Dmitry Krutoi and Alexey Miller discussed key and most topical matters on the packed agenda of Belarus’ interaction with the Russian corporation. The parties stated that Belarusian consumers are supplied with natural gas reliably during the heating season. Close attention was paid to joint efforts in the sphere of import substitution and technological independence, including in the context of operation of the joint venture OAO Brestgazoapparat (Gefest trademark), the largest manufacturer of consumer-grade gas and electric appliances in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Manufacturing cooperation between MZKT and Galich Mobile Cranes Plant was praised. The two companies have designed a vehicle with the carrying capacity of 100 tonnes specifically for Gazprom.

Progress in implementing the project to build the multifunctional complex Gazprom Center in Minsk was reviewed as well as a liquified natural gas project in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.

Dmitry Krutoi and Alexey Miller exchanged opinions about prospects of expanding the participation of Belarusian companies in expanding the gas supply and distribution network in Russian regions in view of the successful work of Belarusian gas companies in Russia’s Smolensk Oblast.

Apart from that, the matter of Belarusian trading houses in Russian regions was raised. Gazprom can help saturate the Russian market with Belarusian quality products that Russian consumers love, the diplomatic mission added.
