Belarus-Russia trade could reach a record $70 billion in 2026, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov said as he addressed the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, BelTA has learned.

“We all realize that the benchmarks for the deeper development of our union integration are set by the leaders of our states: Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin. The dynamics of their contacts demonstrate a high level of mutual understanding, alliance, and strategic partnership between Belarus and Russia,” Yuri Seliverstov said at the Union State: Time to Be First panel session.

The ambassador recalled that in 2025, Belarus and Russia updated their historical high in mutual trade of goods and services, which reached $62 billion, a 6.2% increase. “Based on the results of January-April 2026, the foreign trade in goods grew by another 20% compared to the same period last year. If this dynamic continues, we have every chance of reaching $70 billion by the end of the year,” he noted.
