“We all realize that the benchmarks for the deeper development of our union integration are set by the leaders of our states: Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin. The dynamics of their contacts demonstrate a high level of mutual understanding, alliance, and strategic partnership between Belarus and Russia,” Yuri Seliverstov said at the Union State: Time to Be First panel session.

The ambassador recalled that in 2025, Belarus and Russia updated their historical high in mutual trade of goods and services, which reached $62 billion, a 6.2% increase. “Based on the results of January-April 2026, the foreign trade in goods grew by another 20% compared to the same period last year. If this dynamic continues, we have every chance of reaching $70 billion by the end of the year,” he noted.
