Belarus, Russia discuss formation of unified electricity market

Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz has met with a delegation of the Russian Ministry of Energy led by Deputy Minister Pavel Snikkars in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry of Belarus.

The participants of the meeting took stock  of efforts to implement the Union State program to form a unified electricity market, proposed rules of operation of this market and the work on an interstate agreement on the formation of this market.

The meeting also discussed plans to ensure simultaneous operation of the power grids of the two countries, as well as terms and prospects for nuclear energy partnerships.

“A great deal of work has been done on multiple levels to enable the formation of unified energy markets. This will help strengthen the energy security of the Union State and increase the efficiency of the energy complex,” Denis Moroz emphasized.
