Belarus' Bellakt invests Br2m in modernization in January-May 2020

The Volkovysk-based baby food manufacturer Bellakt spent more than Br2 million on upgrade projects in January-May 2020, BelTA learned from the company.

"Bellakt has always paid close attention to upgrading and modernizing its manufacturing facilities. In January-May 2020 alone, the company spent over Br2 million on this purpose, which was 9% up over the same period of 2019,” the company said.
The most significant projects for the near future include renewing equipment in the quark-making department, setting up an additional production line for glazed products, and upgrading the butter-making department.
“In January-May, the company's revenue from all types of activity went up by 3.3%. Export accounted for around 40% of the revenue. The output of whole-milk products surged by 14.4%,” Bellakt Director General Aleksandr Yarotsky said.
The company's major exports include milk powder, dry baby food, pasteurized cream, butter, liquid and paste-like baby food, whole-milk products, and dairy desserts. In Q1 2020, Bellakt shipped its products to 15 countries, including Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, China, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela. Russia remains the company's main export market. In January-May, its share in the total export rose year-on-year and exceeded 73%. The company recently launched supplies to Malaysia. It expects to complete the registration procedure necessary for export of baby food to Syria and Ghana in the near future. Bellakt is also eyeing the Jordanian market.
The Bellakt company is an advanced manufacturer of baby food, dairy products, and food for expecting and nursing women. The brand is among the eaders of the milk processing industry of Belarus and one of the biggest baby food manufacturers in the CIS. The range of products includes more than 200 items.
