The 8th Young Writers' Competition of the Union State "Bridge of Friendship" will be held in 2026–2027. The literary competition "Bridge of Friendship" was first held in 2012. For over 14 years, it has served as a platform for interaction among young authors, strengthening ties between the fraternal peoples of Belarus and Russia, opening up new opportunities for participants, and helping to showcase the views, concerns, and values of young people.

The competition aims to encourage the creativity of young authors, promote their names, and strengthen Russian-Belarusian cultural ties. Established by the Permanent Committee of the Union State, the contest is being held for the eighth time and has become a unique event uniting writing youth from various regions of the participating countries.

The organizers of the competition are the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature and the State Institution "National Press Center of the Republic of Belarus." The jury is formed on a parity basis from experts from Belarus and Russia, including renowned writers, educators, and specialists in literature and philology.

Young authors aged 16 to 35 who are citizens of Belarus and Russia may take part in the contest. Each participant may submit only one previously unpublished work that has not participated in other competitions, in a small literary form – a short story, novella, essay, or sketch. Submitted works are evaluated by the jury based on literary content, originality of presentation, relevance of subject matter, and linguistic proficiency.

Submissions of applications and works are accepted from August 1 to October 31, 2026. Review of the works will begin immediately after the submission deadline, and the competition results will be announced by December 31, 2026. The award ceremony for the winners will take place in 2027. Applications must be sent via email to Info@bpc.by. Each application must include the work itself and a completed questionnaire. Additionally, the application should be accompanied by a brief biographical note and a photograph of the author in .gif or .jpeg format.

There will be 10 winners – 5 from each country. The authors of the winning works will receive diplomas, and their works will be published in the literary almanac "Bridge of Friendship."
