Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted an agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation on the mutual enforcement of court decisions to parliament for ratification.

The agreement was signed in Moscow on December 18, 2024. According to the document, court decisions issued by competent courts of one party do not require a special recognition procedure and are enforceable in the territory of the other party.

The bill ratifying the aforementioned agreement has been submitted to the relevant committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, according to the official website of the lower house of the Russian parliament.

"The bill has been submitted to the Committee on the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots. We will consider it as a matter of priority. Further integration and strengthening the unified legal framework of the Union State are among the key issues on the State Duma deputies' agenda," commented Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

He also noted that ratification of the agreement will further strengthen judicial protection for citizens of Belarus and Russia.
