PM: Belarus-Russia Union State proves its worth

The Belarus-Russia Union State has proved its worth, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Yerevan, Armenia as part of the Eurasian Economic Forum on 1 October, BelTA has learned.

“This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Union State. It is a significant date, and I believe we are approaching it with good results. As far as I know, the presidents of our countries have agreed on the date for the Supreme State Council meeting this year. We need to hold the Union State Council of Ministers meeting before this date in order to prepare the agenda for the Supreme State Council,” Roman Golovchenko said.
According to the head of government, Belarus is ready to discuss preparations for the Supreme State Council meeting and to consider cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian and other areas between Belarus and Russia.
The 3rd Eurasian Economic Forum is taking place in Yerevan, Armenia on 30 September–1 October. The forum is held as part of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting featuring the heads of government of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and observer states. The event is held within the framework of Armenia’s presidency in the Eurasian Economic Union in 2024.
