Turchin meets with Glazyev to discuss Union State development

Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin met with Sergei Glazyev who was appointed State Secretary of the union State of Belarus and Russia by the presidents of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned.

Aleksandr Turchin congratulated Sergei Glazyev on his appointment to the post. “We will have a lot of topics to explore within the framework of Union State development. I would like to discuss with you, from a professional point of view, some processes that are taking place not only in our countries but in the world. I would also like to know your vision of these issues, solutions to the challenges and threats and ways to maintain stability in our countries,” the prime minister said.

On 17 April, the leaders of Belarus and Russia announced a decision to appoint Sergei Glazyev State Secretary of the Union State. Russian President Vladimir Putin named Dmitry Mezentsev, who had held the position of State Secretary of the Union State since March 2021, Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative to the Constitutional Court.
