Most medically-focused health resorts in Belarus have already been booked for the summer season, Director of the National Center for Recuperation and Health Resort Treatment Gennady Bolbatovsky told the media on 16 April, BelTA has learned.

“On average, Belarusian health resorts report the occupancy rate of more than 90% for May-June, 96% for July and 83% for August,” Gennady Bolbatovsky said. He added that Belarusian health resorts will host about 600,000 people for treatment and recuperation holidays  during the three summer months.

Of these 600,000, about 400,000 will be children, who will holiday in summer camps of different types during the summer. “The center has been allocated a sufficient amount of Br73 million for the summer health campaign for children. So we will accommodate all children who want and need summer recuperation and treatment during the summer vacations,” the director said.
Gennady Bolbatovsky said that there are about 6,000 children's summer camps of various types in the country, of which 1,500 provide round-the-clock stay and about 4,500 offer daytime programs. “We are expected to make sure these camps operate at least 4 shifts this summer. Accordingly, we plan to increase the number of children covered by the round-the-clock programs during this summer season. This will be more effective than daytime camps,” he emphasized.
