Sergei Glazyev drew attention to the fact that Belarus and Russia have not only a common economic space, but also a common development program. “Dozens of sci-tech programs have been implemented, many projects across many fields have come to fruition. Therefore, we can say that the Union State consistently moves along the planned trajectory, and new targets are set depending on the reality on the ground,” he said.
Speaking about such tasks, Sergei Glazyev named increasing the efficiency of work, scaling up activities, developing new integration mechanisms, setting up common institutions, drafting development strategies, and expanding and deepening cooperation. “There are many specific practical tasks where we could combine our capacities, expand and deepen scientific and technical potential and achieve excellence, implement the accelerated development strategy,” he emphasized.
The deputy state secretary of the Union State remarked that the Union State Standing Committee is working on implementing key provisions of the Union State Treaty. These provisions deal with scientific and technical cooperation, macroeconomic policy, harmonization of consumer protection legislation, antitrust regulation, and the formation of common strategic development plans for industries.
“We have very specific work to do, we can talk about it for hours. I think that the tasks set before our governments will continue to be successfully addressed,” Sergei Glazyev emphasized.
