Mezentsev was awarded the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, Second Class

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia awarded State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev with the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, Second Class.

The ceremony took place in the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and the Church of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Church of Russia at the Sretensky Stavropegial Monastery in Moscow.

In recognition of his contribution to the development of church-state relations and due to his 65th birthday anniversary, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill awarded State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev with the Order of St Sergius of Radonezh, Second Class. The award ceremony was held at the end of the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the solemn meeting of the arks with the holy relics of the Venerable Euphrosyne of Polotsk and Euphrosyne of Moscow. 

Then the Primate of the Russian Church, having received the ark with a part of the holy relics of the Venerable Euphrosyne of Moscow, blessed the flock. To the sound of bells the ark was taken out of the church and solemnly handed over for bringing to Belarus. At the end of the service, numerous participants of the service worshipped the relics of the Venerable Euphrosyne of Polotsk in the church of the Sretensky Monastery.
