Utility transport for cities became the key topic of talks during a visit by Governor of Russia’s Bryansk Oblast Yegor Kovalchuk to the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) on 20 October, BelTA has learned.

“There are several successful cooperation projects involving the supply of our chassis for the installation of superstructures manufactured in Russia,” MAZ Director General Valery Ivankovich emphasized. “Around half of all garbage trucks operating in the Russian Federation are built on our chassis.”

The governor was shown the assembly process for MAZ passenger vehicles. It was noted that the expansion of production space following the opening of a new workshop had increased manufacturing capacity and enabled the company to bid for large-scale vehicle supply contracts.

The parties exchanged contacts and expressed their readiness to strengthen business ties.
